Production Process Ceramic Collection

The handmade ceramic collection of Poefjuh is made in our workshop.

We would like to take you through the production process of the beautiful handmade products:

1. It starts with shaping a piece of clay on the potter's wheel. Most of the products are still made by hand, as you can see with our olive oil bottles and egg cups, they all differ in size!

2. After the ceramic has been formed on the wheel, it must dry for 3 to 4 days at room temperature.

3. Then, the surface of the dried products is smoothed with a metal scraper.

4. When the ceramic has been smoothed, it goes into the oven for 24 hours at a temperature of 1050 degrees!

5. The ceramic must then cool for 24 hours.

6. Then the surface of the dried products is smoothed again with a metal scraper.

7. When the ceramic is completely cooled and smoothed, it's time for the paintings. The duration of painting the ceramic depends on the type of product. For example: an artist can paint 3 20 cm plates per day.

8. After this, the ceramic must dry for 12 hours.

9. When the ceramic is completely dry, it is dipped into a container with glaze, creating a glaze layer on the products. This is necessary to protect the paintings and make the ceramic food safe.

10. Then the ceramic goes into the oven for 8 hours at a temperature of 1050 degrees.

11. Finally, the ceramic must cool for 9 hours.

12. The ceramic is ready for use!
